Less Than a Chair

A captivating dance show, Less Than a Chair, which delves into the emotional journey of Verdingkind pratice in Switzerland from 1912-1987. This 40-minute performance offers a poignant retelling of a dark chapter in Swiss history. The show begins by exploring the heart-wrenching separation of children from their families, some forcibly taken by authorities and others abandoned by their parents. It then shifts focus to the hardships and abuse endured by these children in foster care. The show concludes by shedding light on the survivors, those who continue to struggle with the lasting effects of their trauma and those who have managed to overcome their past and build a new life for themselves.
